Consulting Experience
Deborah Fernandez is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), National Certified Counselor (NCC), and a Certified Professional Resume Writer (CPRW). She received a M.Ed. from North Carolina State University in Counselor Education and an undergraduate degree in Behavioral Sciences from Iona College.
Deborah has an extensive background developing and delivering value-based career services to executives and corporate clients. She has earned a reputation as a results-oriented and supportive partner to organizations going through major changes and has provided career services to companies including IBM, GSK, Nortel, and BB&T.
Prior to launching Career Champions, Deborah was the Vice President of Career Consulting for a global career transition and talent management firm. In that position she achieved award winning results in the areas of company performance, operational objectives, and client satisfaction.
Organizational and Community Leadership Experience
Deborah has traveled throughout the eastern United States providing career transition services to displaced workers. In Raleigh, NC, she was instrumental in organizing a community-based job network and support group, the first of its kind in the area. In 2003, Deborah co-founded the first North Carolina chapter of the Association of Career Professionals International (ACPI) and served as the chapter’s Vice President. She is currently a member of the North Carolina Counseling Association (NCCA), the North Carolina Career Development Association (NCCDA), and the Professional Association of Resume Writers (PARW).
